Top photograph: Taranaki Militia circa 1860. Major Herbert and Captain Stapp mounted with soldiers standing at attention with rifles.
Bottom photograph: Officers of Taranaki Militia and Volunteers in informal mood. They are dressed in military uniform and standing in a row.
These may have been taken at the presenting of the colours 25 June 1861 or the photographs taken by Superintendent Charles Brown at the last parade and disbandment of the Taranaki Militia and Volunteers on the 14th February 1862.
