Description
An Alfa Laval milk separator that has been bisected to show the internal mechanism. It has a large metal bowl at the top that is supported by a side arm connected to the main body. There is a valve that feeds liquid into a centrifuge with two pipes that carry the separated heavy fat globules from the serum or milk, leading off the back of the centrifuge casing. There is a crank mechanism to drive the centrifuge with the larger cog encased on the exterior of the model and a smaller cog connected to the central shaft of the centrifuge on the interior. Two plates giving product information attached on both sides of the model. Coloured chalk marks located on the key interior mechanisms.
