This clamp was used by Robert Graham, who owned a boot repair and saddlery shop in Queen Street, Waitara. Clamps were designed to be held between the legs of the leatherworker, (upright with the thin part on the ground). The wider part is for holding the boot or shoe in place ready for the sole to be attached or other work to be carried out.
