Powelliphanta sp. A unnamed Snail, brown in colour. Shell has had a piece of paper inserted which reads in blue handwriting "P. sp. (unnamed) / Rocklands, Buller Gorge. / coll. PRJ 1974 / (? Rossiana type or / lignaria type)". "350" is handwritten in black on the end of the shell. Situated in a cardboard box with a white label with black printed text that reads "P sp. (unnamed) / Rockland, Buller Gorge".

This subspecies is found from Rockland, Buller Gorge, South Island. It is one of the large land carnivorous snails that eats earthworms. They are endemic to New Zealand. Little is known about the species and their population status but they are susceptible to habitat loss and predation.
