Description
Powelliphanta traversi otakia. A Travers Land Snail, black and green in colour. Interior has had cotton wool inserted and a piece of paper with handwritten text reading "P. TRAVERSI. OTAKIA / OHAU 22.10.56". Situated in a cardboard box with a white label with black printed text that reads "P. traversi otakia (Powell, 1946) / Rahui Rd, Otakia". A96.932-934 are also contained in this box.

This subspecies is found around Otaki, North Island. It is one of the large land carnivorous snails that eats earthworms. They are endemic to New Zealand. Little is known about the species and their population status but they are susceptible to habitat loss and predation.
