Powelliphanta traversi tararuaensis. A Travers Land Snail Egg contained in a glass tube with white plastic screw top. Cream in colour. Situated in a cardboard box with a white label with black printed text that reads "Form tarauaensis / In waterfern on hillside / at top of Scott RD, Shannon". Handwritten in blue pen is "PTO" and on the reverse in pen again, "P. traversi". A96.929-931 are also contained in this box.

This subspecies is found around Northern Tararua Range, North Island. It is one of the large land carnivorous snails that eats earthworms. They are endemic to New Zealand. Little is known about the species and their population status but they are susceptible to habitat loss and predation.
