Description
Powelliphanta gilliesi fallax. A Gillies' Land Snail, brown in colour. Interior has had cotton wool inserted. Top centre of the shell has broken away revealing cotton wool. Situated in a cardboard box with a white label with black printed text that reads "P. gilliesi fallax (Powell, 1930) / North side of Parapara Peak, / W. Nelson". A96.900-902 are also contained in this box.

This subspecies is found Takaka, West Nelson , South Island. It is a large carnivorous snails that eats earthworms, insects, and other snails. It is in decline and susceptible to habitat loss and predation. Little is known about this species.
