Description
Powelliphanta gilliesi kahurangica. A Gillies' Land Snail, brown in colour and with a striped pattern. Interior has had cotton wool inserted. Situated in a cardboard box with a white label with black printed text that reads "P. gilliesi kahurangica (Powell, 1936) / In coastal scrub, Kahurangi light - / house, W. Nelson". A96.892-894 are also contained in this box.

This subspecies is found at Kahurangi point, NW Nelson , South Island. It is a large carnivorous snails that eats earthworms, insects, and other snails. It is in decline and susceptible to habitat loss and predation. Little is known about this species.
