Description
Powelliphanta superba harveyi. A Superb Land Snail, shiny chestnut brown in colour with some dimpling or indentations on the surface. Interior is hollow. Situated in a cardboard box with a white label with black printed text that reads "P. superba harveyi (Powell, 1946) / Mackey Hut, Heaphy Track". A96.871 is also contained in this box.

This subspecies is found in Gouland Downs, Heaphy track, South Island. It is a large carnivorous land snail. It eats earthworms, insects and other snails. It is nationally endangered being susceptible to habitat loss and predation by introduced pest. Little is known about this species.
