Powelliphanta superba richardsoni. A Superb Land Snail, shiny brown in colour. Situated in a small cardboard box with a white label with black printed text that reads "P. superba richardsoni (Powell, 1946 / Perry's Pass, near Blue Duck Creek, Gouland Downs". Another piece of paper in the same manner reads "Wangamoa Saddle / Marlborough". A96.864 is also contained in this box.

This subspecies is found in the South Island near Perry's pass in Gouland Downs, West Nelson. It is a large carnivorous snail eating earthworms, insects and other snails. It is nationally endangered being susceptible to habitat loss and predation by introduced pest. Little is known about the species.
