Description
A Kauri Snail Egg, white in colour and contained in a glass tube with a cork top. Cotton wool lines the top and bottom to protect the egg. A white label with black printed text inside the tube reads "Egg of P. busbyi busbyi" Situated in a small rectangular cardboard box with a white label with black printed text that reads "Paryphanta busbyi busbyi (Gray, 1840) / In roadside watertable, Mangamuka Ra." A96.832 - 838 are also contained in this box.

Kauri snails are carnivorous land snails. They are found in Northland. This sub-species is the more widespread of the two sub-species. They eat mainly earthworms but also insects, and other snails. They are threatened by habitat destruction and predation.
