Description
A Blue Duck / Whio (Hymenolaimus malacorhynchos) mounted on a large grey, rounded piece of stone. Standing position with wings closed. It is predominantly grey in colouring with a dappled chestnut breast. The tip of the bill is black and the remainder is yellow.

the

They

threat
and
are
rare.
There
is

considerable
conservation

re-establishing
populations
of
blue
duck
including
in
Taranaki.
