They
are
known
as
the
'Jesus
Christ
Birds"
by
fisherman
as
they
are
often
seen
walking
on
water.
They
hover
above
the
water
hardly
moving
their
wings
and
pick
up
food
from
the
surface.
They
are
only
found
around
New
Zealand
from
August
to
April
for
the
breeding
season
when
they
then
migrate
to
the
tropical
eastern
pacific.
