Little Owl mounted on a branch which is attached to a wood mount. Owl is in a perched position with its head turned to the right. Brown in colour with a cream mottled spotted pattern.

This species was introduced to Otago between 1906 and 1910. They have spread quickly and are now widespread around the drier parts of the eastern and northern South Island. The intention of the introduction was to control introduced birds.
