Description
A Barn Owl - Australian, mounted on what appears to be a rough piece of branch, which is then mounted on a circular piece of wood. Numerous holes suggest worm damage. Bird is in standing position with wings closed. Facial disc circular or heart shaped with greyish white and darker colour at tips of feathers.

These birds are not established in NZ but are often vagrant individuals blown over from Australia. In 2008 a single pair had breed in the Northland. The threat this species will have on native species if establishes has not been assessed.
