Description
An unframed oil on canvas. Depicting a "Hebe speciosa" that has large rounded leaves, the leaves are painted with multiple shades of green to indicate the difference between the top and the underside of the leaves. There are two distictive green colours to the top side of the leaves some are depicted in a pine green colour with a seaweed green stroke down the middle to represent the midrib and veins,some of the other leaves are a basil green with pine green down the middle to represent the midrid and veins with tinges of yellow along outer edges of the leaves. The leaves that represent the underside of the leaves are a olive green with tinges of white along the edging and a seaweed green to represent the midrib and veins. At the top section of the branch there is also a cluster of tawny brown leaves with a seaweed green to represent the midrib. There are also multiple magenta flowers with spot of white to indicate the terminal racemes. Thje background consists of multiple mustard yellow from the mid section to half way with the top half being a lighter yellow.
