This tie was part of the uniform of Sybil Kate Baker who was a member of the WWSA - Waitara " Canteen " group. This group was a support service for the Waitara Home Guard and other military groups stationed at Waitara. They would provide morning teas and other meals for the men while they were on training exercises.

Red ties, like the one pictured were also issued during WW1 and WW2, to wounded men as part of the hospital blue uniform. Barry
