Settle

Description
Ornately carved, heavily varnished, dark stained, wooden settle / hall bench. Central carved motif on both back and seat appears to be a vase from which extends a bunch of long stemmed flowers. Single bird with open wings sits on top of vase. Single butterfly in each top corner. Carving on each side of side panels/arms - similar but instead depict a basket from which long stemmed flowers also extend. Two peacocks perched on flower stems. Designed by Violet Bathurst and carved by Bertha Bathurst. Overall in sound condition.
