Description
A wooden police rattle with an arched frame with two thin wooden slats attached to frame by four screws. The turned handle tapers at either end with a single groove around the middle. It has two off-set wooden cogs attached to the handle. There is a small turned knob on the top edge. A note attached to handle has the following typed text on it " Nightwatchman's rattle used before police were known. " The rattle is covered with old borer holes.
