Description
A Hawera High School blazer.The navy blue woollen blazer with a red, yellow and black embroidered school badge on upper right facing pocket. The badge is shield shaped with diagonal red, blue and yellow stripes. " HSH " is intertwined in the middle with " SUCCURRENDO . FORTIOR . INFIRMIORIBUS " embroidered within a circle. There are three blue plastic buttons and button holes down the front fastening. One button is missing and there are two lower front pockets. The manufacturing label inside the neckline reads " KAIAPOI / PETONE / SCHOOLWEAR / MADE IN N.Z. SIZE / 33 / NAME ........................ " . " Karyn Rayner " is handwritten in black ink along the lower edge.

This jacket was held in the Hawera Repertory Society's wardrobe hire section and was also used for plays. It is thought to have originally been worn at Hawera High School by Karyn Rayner during the 1980s.
