Greenfinch (Carduelis chloris chloris) nest - slightly untidy structure of twigs, moss, wool, dry grass and rootlets. Dishevelled clump to one side of nest. Quite small in size. Lots of sheep wool has been used in the composition of the nest. Small paper note inside nest with following text handwritten in faded ink on it: "Nest of Green linnet. / Queenstown, Otago / Nov. 1900. / Eggs in collection". In fair condition. Blanche Halcombe Collection.
