This cricket glove belonged to Peter Peckham who used to play for the South Taranaki - Western Division Cricket Club based at Auroa in about 1956. The club played weekly against neighbouring teams from Riverlea, Kaponga, Oeo, Okato, Rahotu and other areas. Play started at 10.30am - with a lunchbreak at 12, and then continued until 3.30pm. Most players in the teams were farmers and had to finish playing to go home to milk the cows.
