This cricket bat belonged to Peter Peckham who used to play for the South Taranaki - Western Division Cricket Club based at Auroa in the mid 1950s. The club played weekly against neighbouring teams including Riverlea, Kaponga, Ōeo, Ōkato and Rahotū. Play typically started at 10.30am and games normally wound up by 3.30pm as most of the players had to get home to milk the cows.
