Description
A pair of black leather lace up ice skating boots fitted with steel blades and featuring 11 eyelets on each boot. " Polar Torpedo Quall. 11 " and " Agon Model Peter Sorensen JC " is marked on one side of the blades. The blades are fixed to the the bottom with eight screws on the front and four screws on the back. An ankle support strap runs from the heel up over the ankle and fastens with a small square metal buckle on the outside edge of the boot. Each blade fits into a long narrow wooden protector fitted with two leather straps.

This pair of ice skates was bought from a shoemaker in Copenhagen, Denmark by Peter Peckham soon after World War II ended. He remembers he paid the shoemaker 10 packets of cigarettes for them. Peter, together with his wife Joy, used to ice skate for leisure in a number of places around the United Kingdom.
