An electroplated nickel silver teapot with a straight spout, a question mark-shaped handle and a flat hinged lid with small knob on top. The basic shape of teapot is oval. There is an identical engraved motif on both sides " PRESENTED / to / Capt Martin Jensen / by Residents of / MARYVILLE / MOKAU / April 30 1908 " is engraved on one side. The maker's marks are stamped on the underside of the base.

This teapot was presented to Captain Martin Jensen for First Aid, medical , and dental work he undertook in Mokau. Mr Jensen came to Taranaki in 1894 and was master of the SS Tainui which serviced the Mokau - Waitara run. Mr Jensen was also apparently a qualified first aider.
