Description
Spotless crake (Porzana tabuensis plumbea). Smallish bird. Back is a dull chocolate colour - almost black unless seen in strong light. Head and underparts leaden grey; chin paler; undertail coverts lightly barred with white. Outer web and edge of first primary may be whitish. Underwing mottled ashy brown and white. Brown iris. Mounted on a piece of rough wood. Standing with wings closed and head extended skywards. In fair condition.
