Description
Banded Rail (Rallus philippensis). Top of head dark brown. Chestnut band through eye to back of head; white streak; white streak above. Chin whitish. Throat and upper breast pale grey. Broad chestnut band across centre of breast; rest of undersurface striped black and white. Undertail stripped reddish brown and black. Back and top of wing brown, spotted with black and white; underwing paler. Mounted on a piece of flat varnished wood with rounded edges. Wings closed. One leg in front of the other - as if walking.
