Fernleaf butter was once the product of Moa-nui Co-operative dairy, popularised by the infamous ‘Fernleaf butter’ television advertisements of the late 1980s and early 1990s. ‘Fernleaf’ was rebranded as ‘Mainland Fernleaf’ butter after the Moa-nui company became a part of Fonterra during the 2001 amalgamation.
