Edgar Roy Brewster was an eccentric Taranaki man whose Norian theory (NO RIght ANgles) argued for the removal of right angles to better reflect the beauty of nature. He and his wife Nettie worked as a team composing music. Some of their work was published on music sheets featuring scenes from their Norian 'beehive' house. These were sold to their visitors as souvenirs.

In the summer of 1953/1954, Queen Elizabeth and her husband Prince Philip toured New Zealand. Nettie and Roy’s song ‘Welcome Queen Elizabeth II’ was chosen by the New Plymouth Royal Visit Committee to be sung at the civic reception for the Queen at Pukekura Park. The song was sung by the New Plymouth Primary School's Representative choir of 160 children.
