Wrapper, Butter (Anchor)
Description
Anchor butter wrapper. Silver-coloured foil covered sheet of paper measuring 27 x 18.9 cm with red and blue label. There are basically four sections to this label. The main central section bears the following text in red and blue: "SALTED Anchor NEW ZEALAND PURE CREAMERY BUTTER 1 lb NET (454g)". Three small anchors accompany this text. The remainder of the text is in Arabic. A small white adhesive label on wrapper reads: "Saudi Arabia Bahrain Qatar Dubai Mauritius Muscat (Oman)". The butter was probably exported to here. The following text is printed along the top (upside down when viewed flat): "PRODUCED AND EXPORTED BY NEW ZEALAND DAIRY BOARD WELLINGTON NEW ZEALAND". Was wrapped around a block of wood and used as a display prop emulating a block of butter. In fair condition - numerous creases where paper was folded around block. Unknown maker.
