Kaka, North Island
Description
North Island Kaka (Nestor meridionalis septentrionalis). Top of head and hind neck brownish grey. Narrow reddish collar, feathers outlined with olive brown. Back and wing feathers brown outlined with dark brown. Rump and tail coverts red. Tail brown. Olive and red tinge on face. Breast brown outlined in dark brown, abdomen and tail coverts outlined in red. Eyes missing. Mounted on a short length of branch with wings closed. Has quite a sway back. In fairly poor condition.
