Carapace and right chelae of a fossilised crab (tumidocarinus giganteus) encased within a siltstone concretion. Smooth, evenly rounded carapace, but somewhat flattened back - fine raised dots all over the surface. Tips of the claw broken away.Total size measures 16 x 14.5cm (width x depth). Dates to the Miocene age (24-5 million years old). A fairly good example.
