Description
Southern Crested Grebe (Podiceps cristatus australis). Upper surface including crest blackish brown, except primaries and outer wing coverts greyish brown and marginal coverts white. Streak in front of eye, throat and side of head white. Ruff reddish orange with wide black border. Under surface slivery white, striated with buff on breast. Bill dark brown, lower edge and tip of mandible yellow. Toes lobed, greenish black. Mounted standing with wings closed, looking forward on a piece of dark coloured wood. In good condition.
