Cast, Pseudodontornis Jaw Bone
A cast of a piece of jaw bone from a Pseudodontornis stirtoni (false toothed bird). The cast is coloured brown and grey and small sections of the bony, undulating teeth-like structures along the margin of the jaw (often termed 'false teeth') are clearly visible on both sides.

This cast was originally made for display in Taranaki Museum in the mid 1990s from the fossilized remains found at Motunau Beach, Canterbury.
