Description
Silver cased pocket watch. The watch has a white enamel dial with black Roman Numerals and blue steel hands. Small circular face to record seconds located on face between V and VII. The following text is engraved on the rear: "PRESENTED TO / F. CARRINGTON, ESQ / BY THE / Officers of the District Survey Dept. / WELLINGTON. / On his being transferred to the / TARANAKI DISTRICT. / Dec.r. 22nd 1899." One of the covers is missing and the other has broken from its hinges. Hall marks are stamped on the inside cover as follows; a lion, a shield and an "I". Below this the numbers "5 4 1 7 0" are also stamped. "F.A.", the lion, the "I" and "F.A." also impressed on the winding dial.
