A small Returned Services Association lapel pin which is framed within a gold coloured frame on a purple ground along with a South African War lapel pin and a Queen's South Africa Medal, 1899-1902.The following text is handwritten in blue biro on the rear of the frame: " Boer War medal belonging to my father B. E. Veale. 4th Contingent from New Zealand. Regimental No. 1521. " is handwritten in blue biro on the back of the frame. This number is engraved on the back of the R.S.A. badge also attached to the ribbon. .
