Description
Pearl oyster shell with painted image (in oil) on inside surface. Image depicts small hut lower right with two people standing outside. Large ship at sea left middleground. Large coconut palm lower left foreground. Painted in white across top of image is "GREETING BULA FROM SUVA FIJI // 1942". Signed lower middle edge "EMS". External shell is predominantly a mixture of cream, grey and cream toning with a touch of reddish discolouration near the mollusc join.
