A shed snake skin. The incomplete light brown skin is broken in two pieces with long scales lying transversely on the ventral side. There are small circular and oval scales on the dorsal side and cream skin on the interconnecting scales.
This snake skin was found in Pukekura Park, New Plymouth on 17 Feb 1974. It was the second skin found in the park and was thought to have been planted as a hoax.
