 Description
A linen sampler from 1771. " Give all honour that is due unto / your parents dear such will be happy / you will find whilst that / do tarry here /Adam and Eve whilst innocent in Paradise were placed; but soon the serpent by his wiles the happy pair disgraced./By Me Fanny Addy/1771." There are images of Adam and Eve standing below a tree and animals and trees are next to the serpent, animals and trees. The alphabet is also featured on the sampler. The outer frame is made of green silk and has chain - stitched flowers on long wavy stems.
