Description
A steel-blue coloured silk Country Women's Institute banner. The banner is decorated with embroidered motifs including flowers down the outside edges with a house, tree fern, and Mt Taranaki/Egmont in central panel. The words: "New Plymouth Centre" are embroidered in black above and "1937" below. The Country Women's Institute logo "For Home and Country" is embroidered in top panel in green, yellow and red threads. A single gold-coloured tassel hangs at each corner and one at the centre lower edge. There is a narrow black edging around outside edge and between panels and four black fabric loops along the top edge for inserting a rod.
