Description
Early view of New Plymouth township and coastline taken from hilltop above mouth of Huatoki River looking towards Paritutu. Two people sitting on hilltop centre foreground. New Plymouth township left middleground - Beach Hotel on St Aubyn Street (later the Terminus Hotel then became the Tasman Hotel), Richmond Cottage, Custom House and boat sheds. Small boat near shore with horses, luggage and people on beach in front of boat sheds.
