Description
A pale gold, loosely woven, coarse silk shawl. Roughly square in shape, the shawl is trimmed with 0.8cm wide purple silk ribbon (attached 4.5cm from edge). Two of the four corners are decorated with pale gold and purple silk embroidery (including pine cone and floral motifs). Part of the ribbon and one section of the embroidery are on one side with the remainder on the other. c.1840s-1860s
