" Ancient Vessel I " was exhibited in the New Plymouth Potters annual exhibition at Taranaki Museum in 1999 and was selected by Sheila Brown, the guest exhibitor from Wellington, as the piece the museum should purchase. Kane's skill in Raku work led to her being employed to produce 200 pots for The Last Samurai, a movie starring Tom Cruise which was partially filmed in Taranaki during 2003.
