Description
Muka kaupapa woven in vertical rows of whatu-aho-rua. Aho spaced at six mm intervals. Seven whenu to every 10 mm. A broad band of Taniko along hem worked in dyed muka and red wool - ten whenu to every 10 mm. Taniko patterns include Waharua, Kopito and Patikitiki with dividing lines of Haehae. Two narrow borders of Taniko worked in dyed muka and red wool at each side edge - nine whenu to every 10mm. Large triangles of Aonui divided by Haehae makes up the pattern Aramoana (the path to the sea).
