Korowai

Description
Muka kaupapa woven in horizontal rows of whatu-aho-rua. Six whenu to every 10 mm. Aho spaced at nine mm intervals. Kaupapa decorated with karure. This korowai is unusual in that the top of the item is narrower than the hem. This could be accounted for by the weave which changes from whatu-aho-rua to whatu-aho-tahi 30 rows from the neck edge. backing support has been added
