Fallen tree in lower right corner. Sky has a pinkish tinge. Part of a series of works by Edith Halcombe documenting Sir William Fox's climb up Mt Taranaki/Egmont in February 1890. Members of the party included: Premier Sir William Fox; Mayor of New Plymouth Arthur Standish; Edith Halcombe; Miss Standish; Miss Saddler; Guide Harry Peters and Robert Clinton Hughes.
