Kaupapa worked in horizontal rows of whatu; three whenu to every 10mm; ara spaced at 11mm intervals; thatching is semi-dressed (haku) flax, 90mm in length; folded in half and woven into kaupapa once on every alternative whenu; black and yellow harakeke that forms a diagonal strip.
