Description
A cream coloured embossed silk wedding gown. It has a high gusseted waist which is diamond shaped in the front and it has a square cut neckline and pintucks coming in from the padded shoulders to the gusset. The skirt of the dress is cut on the bias with the front of the dress being shorter than the back leaving a 65cm train. There are buttons up the back which are covered in the same cream embossed silk material. The sleeves are three quarter length and pointed at the ends.

This wedding gown was worn by Marjorie Riordan when she married Jim Riordan on 31 May 1948 at a New Plymouth Catholic Church. The dress was previously worn by four other women on their wedding days.
