Foreground figures include two horse riders, five Maori, and a dray. 58th Regiment established on Mt Eliot. Just landed from the "Duke of Portland" at anchor. The mail steamer "Zingari" is seen approaching from the south and is being signalled from the Mt Eliot mast.
