Description
Kaupapa woven from candlewick in horizontal rows of whatu-aho-tahi. Four whenu to every 10mm. Ara spaced at 9mm intervals. Thick black wool hukahuka and kurupatu. Feathers along outer-sides (some completely worn away or missing). Black and red wool trimming along top edge. One wool tie on left side only. Possibly a family pattern in black and red. Feather border on side margin almost worn away. Horizontal band of Euro European style twill weaving worked into the kaupapa at time of manufacture
